Church Singer

Church Weddings offer an opportunity to celebrate in many ways, including singing, music, readings and poetry. Singing can be at the heart of a service in a church, be it with hymns or songs, or both.

I have by now, sung at very many church weddings.
A Wedding Singer often sings during the procession at the start of the wedding and/or at the exit.
The most popular option, however, is for the wedding singer to sing during the Signing of the Register, during the Wedding ceremony.
This means that the mood of the service won’t be interrupted when the married couple leave to sign the register.

As a guide your Wedding Singer will sing 1 or 2 songs during the signing of the register.

Other Options are:

  • At the start of the wedding to set the scene
  • For the arrival of the bride
  • In place of a Hymn
  • During a candle lighting ceremony
  • During Communion
  • While the bride and bride groom exit

There are no ‘rules’ on the types of music you can choose, so feel free to discuss your choices with me and with your minister. Most families ask for a soloist to perform one or two songs, but I am very happy to sing more songs if you wish and if the duration of the service allows it.

Some churches have an organ and organist to accompany hymns. They may be able to also accompany your wedding singer. I also have my own accompanist who can be booked through me if you wish. But I am equally happy to sing with an accomplished organist/pianist/musician of your choice. To save money, I also have my own high-quality pre-recorded accompaniments for many songs – while some songs work best unaccompanied.

We will discuss together according to what is most appropriate for your choice of music and wedding. If necessary, I will liaise with all musicians involved to brief them, supply sheet music to them. If possible, I will arrange a small rehearsal before the wedding.

Church wedding ceremonies have declined in popularity in recent years in favour of the more popular civil weddings, but many still view marriage within one of the many churches across the United Kingdom as both a more romantic and more appropriate way to begin married life. The history and architecture of a traditional church is perceived by many to be one of the most romantic venues that a couple can tie the knot in.

You’re welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are christened and whether or not you regularly go to church. And marrying in church has never been easier – there are more churches to choose from then ever before.

Wedding Singer UK provides wedding singing primarily in the following counties and towns and cities.
Gloucestershire, Bristol, Swindon, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bath, Wales, West Midlands, South West, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Wiltshire, Avon, Devon, Warwickshire, Somerset, & Oxfordshire.
