“I knew from when I was very young that singing was for me. As a child I spent hours making up and learning a vast number of songs. I sang in three choirs as a teenager and eventuallly enrolled in the ‘Musik Akademiet’ in Copenhagen, studying singing and piano. In 1993 I moved to England and became strongly involved with the Music Organisation called ‘Tonalis’. I am now a graduate of two Tonalis’ Vocational Music Trainings; The ‘Tonalis Voice Training’ and ‘Music Education for Children Training’.

I have been a singing student of the Tonalis director; Michael Deason Barrow, for many many years, as well as being a long standing member of his choir ‘Tonalis Company of Singers’. For several years now I have performed with this unique choir, with its amazing and broad repertoire, both as part of the whole choir, in small consorts and as a solo singer.

I have taken various ‘Trinity College London’ Singing and Music Performance Diploma Exams.
I am a qualified Associate of ‘Trinity College London’ with a Diploma in Singing and Music Performance – ATCL. I have also taken the high LTCL Diploma exam in singing and music performance, with distinction in performance. In LTCL singing diplomas the level is twice as high as grade 8.

I have also had singing lessons with the famous tenor Ian Partridge, as well as singing lessons with the wonderful singer, composer and Trinity diploma examiner, Gary Higginson.

I have a large and varied repertoire and will always do my best to accommodate your wishes on choice of repertoire and style of performance. I will also be delighted to help select the music most suited to your wedding.

As a Wedding Singer I provide my own professional backing music, sing a capella or I can arrange for an accompanist to play for me. I’m also happy to perform with your own musician. Should you wish to hire additional musicians, – I can put you in touch with other professional instrumentalists & singers.

For quite a few years now, I have been running my own business ‘Celebration Songs’, offering beautiful singing as a Celebration Singer singing for special occasions, like weddings, renewal of vows, commitment ceremonies, blessings, as well as christenings, baptisms and naming ceremonies. As one of the founding members of the all female consort ‘Si Canta’, I have also performed with this group during 2007/2008. This included singing for weddings as a group. For many years I have also sung in numerous folk clubs both in England and in Ireland with my folk repertoire. Both as a soloist as well as a member of the new ‘Si Canta duo’ with Catharina Rickett”. In 2017, Elyssia, a New Age Duo, featuring Marianne Lihannah and musician and composer Paul Landry was created. The combination see’s Paul’s new age and ambient music compositions merged with Marianne’s mezzo soprano singing and folk singing styles forging a unique musical and vocal blend.
